Anthropic Gives Claude 3.5 Sonnet Actual Computer Control
Anthropic released Claude 3.5 Sonnet with computer use. The model now moves the mouse, types on the keyboard, and executes tasks inside a live desktop environment. Users no longer need to write code to automate spreadsheet work or web research.
This shifts the workflow from prompt writing to task delegation. Instead of describing steps, you let the model watch the screen and act. The principle is replacing manual repetition with supervised autonomy.
Anthropic's internal research team demonstrated the feature on real desktop workflows. Early testers completed multi-step research tasks without writing a single line of code.
