Meta Puts Agents On Your Face. Over 100 Styles By Year's End. The Glasses Are The Distribution Channel.
Meta announced Muse will extend to Ray-Ban, Oakley, and Meta glasses, including a first audio-only glasses model with open-ear audio. The company also debuted Meta VR Glasses promising IMAX-grade cinema and spatial computing. Over 100 styles of AI glasses will exist by end of 2026.
This demonstrates the concept of form factor lock-in. The model is the software. The glasses are the subscription. Whoever owns the surface the AI lives on controls the relationship. Meta understands that agents trapped in a browser tab are replaceable. Agents embedded in eyewear you wear all day become infrastructure. The hardware is the moat.
Meta, expanding Muse across Ray-Ban, Oakley, and its own Meta Glasses brand. The company is betting that wearable AI agents across over 100 styles will create durable consumer dependency.
- If you own Ray-Ban Meta glasses already, open the Meta View app and check whether the Muse agent update has appeared. It should offer conversational access beyond the previous basic assistant.
- If you do not own the hardware, open the Meta AI app on your phone and ask Muse a multi-step question. This approximates the agent experience without the glasses.
- Note how the phone-based interaction feels like a tool you open deliberately. Then imagine that same agent always present in your field of vision. That shift from tool to companion is the entire strategy.
