Golf VX Unveils Quantum Simulator. It Shifts Ground On 15 Axes. Your Real Course Cannot Do That, Obviously.
Golf VX's new Quantum simulator introduces a 15-axis swing plate that physically tilts the ground beneath your feet during your swing. A reviewer at Golf VX's flagship location compared it side-by-side against a real course and noted a noticeable improvement over the company's prior T2 sim. PGA Tour pro Ben Griffin, separately, observed his ball flying farther and straighter with a cheaper ball at The Masters.
The principle here is proprioceptive fidelity. A simulator that only feeds you visual data is a toy. One that manipulates your physical relationship to the ground, across 15 axes no less, begins to train the neuromuscular system rather than merely the eyeballs. The mechanism is called sensory congruence, and it is the difference between practicing golf and practicing a video game that resembles golf.
Golf VX built the Quantum system with its 15-axis swing plate, available at the company's flagship location. Dave LeClair of Tom's Guide conducted the side-by-side comparison with a real course.
- Visit golfvx.com and locate their flagship or nearest facility to book a Quantum simulator session. Expect to find booking options for sessions that include the swing plate technology.
- Arrive early and ask staff to demonstrate the 15-axis swing plate before you begin your round. You should feel the ground tilt beneath your feet as the system simulates uneven lies.
- Play a virtual round and pay attention to how your body adjusts to the shifting surface. The expected outcome is that your balance and swing awareness improve compared to a flat-floor simulator, because your ankles are now doing actual work.
