NeoPace Sells a Swing Brain for $899. It Watches Three Cameras at Once. You Still Have to Listen.
NeoPace's launch monitor uses three cameras: two capture the impact zone at up to 480 frames per second, while a third records the full swing at 120fps. The footage feeds into TrainerIQ, an AI system that traces a bad shot through a body mechanics breakdown and recommends fixes. The base tier allows 5 AI-analyzed shots per month, while Premium AI bumps that to 1,000 shots and adds Ask TrainerIQ, Personalized Drills, Performance Insights, Practice Goals, and Cloud Storage.
The mechanism here is closed-loop feedback: you cannot correct what you cannot measure, and you certainly cannot correct what you forget to measure. Most golfers leave a lesson, practice unsupervised, and rehearse their old mistake for two solid weeks. A system that captures swing data at 480fps and immediately diagnoses the fault closes that loop. The lesson is simple: unobserved practice is just repetition of error.
NeoPace built the TrainerIQ system at a $899 price point, targeting the gap between a single golf lesson, which runs $80 to $200 per hour, and permanent swing improvement. The product launched with coverage from Yanko Design.
- Record your golf swing on your phone using the default camera's slow-motion mode at 240fps. Position the phone at waist height, perpendicular to your swing line.
- Open the free version of an AI golf swing app such as Golf AI or V1 Golf and upload the video. The app will trace your swing plane and flag basic faults such as over-the-top motion or early hip rotation.
- Compare the app's feedback to what you felt during the swing. The gap between perception and reality is the entire point. Do this after every range session for two weeks.
