Garmin's new Cirqa band is a screenless fitness tracker that Engadget reviewed and essentially said adds nothing to your life. It lacks GPS, it lacks the AI coaching insights that competitors like Whoop and Fitbit Air offer, and it ships with a proprietary USB-C charging cable that you need to shove in with force. Garmin's defense is technically true but falls apart under any real scrutiny. The whole point of these bands now is the AI analysis of your data, and Cirqa doesn't deliver that.

Somebody built 215,128 "best software" pages across 380 categories specifically for AI to read, and Perplexity is swallowing them whole. The investigation found that 59.8% of sources behind grounded AI recommendations come from sites outside the top 100,000 most-visited websites. The researchers fetched the same "project estimation software" page from three brands and found identical tells: ranking data embedded in JSON-LD for machines to scrape, "editorial process" labels like Gitnux's "AI-verified · Expert reviewed," and broken template variables like "Within the next 26 days" sitting right there in the byline where no human editor ever bothered to look.
