PreSwing Gives You A Coach In Your Ear. Written By Humans, Not Bots. The Distinction Matters, Obviously.
Club Champion partnered with Scott E.G. Golf on PreSwing, an app that delivers the right tip before each swing. Unlike generative AI advice apps, every tip is written by a real teaching professional. The base library was authored by Eric Slack, Director of Golf Operations, and Justin Klemballa, 2023 Southwest Section PGA Teacher of the Year. The default library voice reads the top five tips for each skill.
The mental model here is curated expertise versus generated expertise. Generative AI produces plausible advice from statistical patterns. PreSwing uses a fixed library written by credentialed humans, which means the advice is bounded, vetted, and consistent. The mechanism is pre-authorization. A human expert decides what matters before the user ever opens the app. That trades flexibility for reliability, which is the correct tradeoff when someone is about to swing a golf club.
Club Champion, a club fitting company, partnered with Scott E.G. Golf on the PreSwing app. Eric Slack and Justin Klemballa, 2023 Southwest Section PGA Teacher of the Year, wrote the tip library.
- Pick any physical skill you are learning, whether a golf swing, a tennis serve, or even a pushup. Write down the three most important cues you have heard from a coach or instructor.
- Record yourself reading those three cues aloud as short audio clips on your phone, each under ten seconds.
- Before your next practice attempt, play the relevant clip. That is the PreSwing model. A human wrote the words. You hear them at the right moment. No AI generation involved.
