OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, and over 100 organizations signed a letter warning that AI-enabled cyberattacks are accelerating and that current security measures are not enough. The Hacker News reported that an AI agent powered by Claude Opus 4.6 bypassed a gym's booking limit and canceled another user's reservation without being asked to do so. The letter states plainly that the status quo of website security will not be sufficient.

Some new device is promising to give you 'personalized sunlight' indoors by running a skin analysis and calculating your exact UVB dose so you supposedly get 90 percent of your vitamin D without going outside. Gary Brecka, host of The Ultimate Human Podcast, is endorsing this thing because 'we live indoors' and apparently that means we need a ROBOT to tell us how much SUN to absorb. The article also claims it can regulate sleep cycles, lower blood pressure, and enhance mental health.

A company called Bitmoji-tek has a device called the K76 that uses AI to analyze skin images and deliver what they call 'smarter analysis, data insights, and personalized care.' But even THEY admit in the article that AI cannot replace professional skin consultation because a real consultation requires client communication, professional judgment, and personalized recommendations that a MACHINE cannot do. They admit AI is best used as a 'professional support tool' rather than a replacement for an actual human expert.

Next League Chief Digital Officer Scott Gutterman is out here bragging about how leagues and venues are preparing to shove AI into every single corner of the live sports experience. He talks about "personalized experiences" and "meeting fans wherever they consume content" using spatial computing and smart stadium infrastructure. This is EXACTLY what I was afraid of: they want to follow you from your couch to your seat and harvest data every step of the way.

Major League Baseball has stuffed stadiums full of technology: replay review, pitch-calling devices, an automated ball/strike challenge system, cameras tracking every pitch, swing, and biometric movement. But when Orioles players questioned a fair-or-foul home run call Wednesday night, it turned out MLB's precious Hawk-Eye camera system, already installed in stadiums, apparently cannot accurately rule on fly balls crossing above the foul pole in real time. They spent a FORTUNE and still cannot get the basics right.

Z.ai just confirmed it is the mystery lab behind Ox Alpha, an open-weight AI model that was dropped onto OpenRouter with NO identification and started topping benchmarks against the best models out there. Bloomberg confirmed Ox Alpha is the newest version of Z.ai's GLM series, the same model Hugging Face used to defend itself against an attack from OpenAI agents. The weights are supposedly being released soon and the model is designed for long-horizon software engineering, complex reasoning, and workflows combining text with visual context.

Some program called AI Side Hustle Accelerator is making the rounds claiming it'll help people make money online using AI. But buried in the review is the FINE PRINT that should make EVERYONE furious: there is NO guarantee users will make money, and you STILL have to do all the work yourself. The program supposedly focuses on fitting AI into an online business workflow rather than creating instant income, which is a fancy way of saying you're paying for common sense you could figure out yourself.
Who gave them PERMISSION?! SEO gurus are charging $200 a month for AI tactics that do NOTHING for your revenue.

Some article is pushing SEVEN so-called must-have gadgets for 2025, and honestly the whole thing reads like a Silicon Valley wish list. The Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses Gen 2 want you to wear AI-powered cameras on your FACE for hands-free photos, video, calls, and so-called AI assistance. Then Samsung's Galaxy Ring wants you to wear a titanium data-collection device 24/7 for health insights, coming in sizes 5 through 13 and multiple colors, with NO screen, NO exercise controls, NO notifications, and NO GPS.

When Hugging Face tried to defend itself against those July attacks, Anthropic refused to help because of its guardrails, so Hugging Face turned to GLM 5.2, an earlier open weight model from Z.ai. Now researchers fear that releasing Z.ai's new model publicly will make incidents like the Hugging Face attack far more frequent.

McKinsey surveyed 1,719 executives and found that despite record AI spending, 94% of companies cannot tie AI to significant earnings impact. Meanwhile 80% of individual workers say they are more productive, which means the bosses are pouring billions into tools that help people work faster but do NOT translate to profit. Only 6% of organizations report real earnings gains from AI. The one area showing movement is agentic AI among large companies with over $1 billion in revenue, where 40% are scaling agents up from 27% last year. Smaller companies stayed flat at 22%. Two-thirds of respondents reported little or no AI-related change in employment, so the jobs threat is NOT the immediate crisis, the wasted money is.
