Golf swings now generate 3D avatars and investor returns
📰 THE BRIEF
Bryson DeChambeau and investors paid an eight-figure sum in April to acquire Sportsbox AI. The company 3D Golf app records a user swing on any smartphone camera and renders a motion-capture avatar for instant biomechanical review.
💡 WHY IT MATTERS
Students learn that off-the-shelf phone video plus a lightweight model can replace expensive lab capture. This shifts the workflow from booking sessions to recording, uploading, and iterating daily.
👥 WHO'S DOING IT
Sportsbox AI reports thousands of monthly active golfers who reduced swing faults after reviewing avatar feedback within the app.
⚡ TRY IT
- Download the Sportsbox 3D Golf app from the App Store.
- Record a full swing from the face-on angle; the app uploads the clip and builds the avatar.
- Review the side-by-side comparison to the ideal model and adjust posture before the next shot. https://www.sportsbox.ai/
