Chatbots Answer Questions At 3 AM. The Copy Still Needs A Human. Obviously.
Elyspace makes the rather obvious point that AI chatbots handle repetitive customer questions around the clock, reducing staff workload. They also correctly note that unedited AI-generated content is trivially identifiable and actively damages trust. A human must review and refine everything before it reaches a customer.
This illustrates a principle I call automated triage with human gatekeeping. The AI handles volume. The human handles judgment. Anyone who deploys raw AI output without review is not saving time. They are simply outsourcing their credibility to a system that has none.
Elyspace, presumably a web services provider, published this guidance on their blog at elyspace.com. They report that AI chatbots reduce response times and staff burden, but offer no specific metrics to support the claim.
- Open ChatGPT or Claude and paste three common customer questions your business receives.
- Review each AI-generated answer and rewrite it in your own voice, removing any generic phrasing that sounds like a machine wrote it.
- Save the edited answers as a reference document for future customer interactions. You now have a vetted response library rather than a liability.
