Shot Scope Puts Tour Metrics On Your Wrist. Lifetime Access, One Payment. The Pricing Is The Actual Innovation.
Shot Scope has launched a GPS app for Apple Watch, marking the first time the golf technology company has brought its feature suite to that platform. The company is offering lifetime access for a single one-time payment rather than the subscription model that has become standard across the industry.
This illustrates the principle of channel expansion meeting pricing disruption. The underlying mechanism is ownership versus access: when a company breaks from recurring revenue to sell perpetual licenses, it signals confidence that the product's value compounds over time. The reader should remember that subscriptions are a business decision, not a technical requirement.
Shot Scope, a golf technology company, has developed the Apple Watch GPS app as a first in their history. The company emphasized lifetime access for a one-time payment as their core value proposition.
- Open the App Store on your Apple Watch or paired iPhone and search for Shot Scope to confirm availability. Expected outcome: You locate the app and can review the one-time purchase price.
- Download the app and complete any initial setup, including granting location permissions for GPS functionality. Expected outcome: The app installs and requests course data access.
- Take it to a golf course and test the GPS yardage display on your wrist during a round. Expected outcome: You see distance metrics without needing to check your phone.
