This illustrates what I call the Applied Translation Problem. Raw model capability is intellectually interesting but practically useless without distribution infrastructure. Google's advantage here is not the model. It is the pipeline reaching 86% of humanity. The mental model: scientific breakthroughs do not matter until they are embedded in tools people actually use. Capability without reach is just a paper in a journal nobody reads.
