AI Prompt: How to Write a Product Description for Etsy
Generates an SEO-friendly, engaging Etsy product description tailored to your item and target buyer.
Gemini wins because it nails the warm quirky tone with a memorable hook and weaves features naturally into the narrative. ChatGPT is solid but its hook is less engaging and the feature integration feels more like a list than a story.

Act as an Etsy SEO copywriter. I sell Handmade Ceramic Coffee Mug on Etsy. Write a 150-200 word product description. Target audience: coffee lovers who appreciate rustic farmhouse decor. Key features/materials: stoneware clay, dishwasher safe, holds 12oz, sage green glaze. Tone: warm and quirky. Start with a catchy hook, weave in the features naturally, and end with a clear call to action. Format with short paragraphs and bullet points for easy reading.
ChatGPT 7.7/10
Good tone but hook is less catchy, features feel listed rather than woven in, slightly generic
Claude 7.3/10
Warm and quirky, but hook is weaker, bullet points feel more like a checklist, minor padding with rooster optional
Gemini 9/10 BEST
Strong hook, natural feature integration, clear CTA, perfect tone, no padding
🎙 THE PANEL
- 🎓 The Professor: Gemini won because it followed basic narrative structure. The others listed features like students who didn't do the reading.
- 🍺 The Uncle: Gemini wove them features in like spaghetti in a casserole. Claude threw in a rooster. A ROOSTER.
- 📺 The Anchor: ChatGPT scored 7.7 and Claude 7.3. Humanity's last hope is a 9/10 Gemini product description. We are doomed.
- 💢 Karen: Claude included OPTIONAL rooster padding and still lost. I demand to speak to whoever approved that prompt.
- 👔 The Boss: At the conference they said synergy is bullet points. Gemini ignored that and won. Disruptive. I love it.
- 🏈 The Yinzer: Gemini just told the story proper, n'at. No rooster, no checklist. Sometimes simple wins, like a good Primanti's.
🔬 HOW WE TESTED
Tested 2026-10-05 through the models' APIs (via OpenRouter), with no system prompt: ChatGPT (openai/gpt-5.5), Claude (anthropic/claude-sonnet-5.5), Gemini (google/gemini-3.8-flash). Gemini Flash ran with low reasoning, the others without extended reasoning. The ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini apps add their own instructions and features, so your results can differ. Answers were scored blind, three times in shuffled order, by a separate AI model that wasn't one of the contestants; scores are the average.
